The Régionales appellations alone account for more than half of Bourgogne's wine production. They are often perceived as a "whole", but there are many subtleties... In particular, the Mâcon appellation offers a range of wines with additional geographical denominations.
A unique feature of the region, these 27 additional geographical denominations to the appellation Mâcon bring the concept of terroir into direct focus. In today’s context, they are also crucial to meet the expectations of market players who aim to continue offering Bourgogne wines to their clientele at "reasonable" prices.
Led by Jacky Blisson, Master of Wine and Bourgogne wine Official Ambassador and a winegrower who produces this appellation segment, the session will be a deep dive into the hallmarks of the region. A tasting of 8 wines will illustrate the diversity offered by this appellation segment.
What's Included

•1 tasting kit with 8 hand-selected wines to illustrate the key learning objectives
•International shipping*

The objectives of this course are:
To explain the reason why 27 village names can be added to the Mâcon appellation.
To bring into light that through the Mâcon wines and geographical denomination, the concept of terroir shows through the diversity of the wines, even though we are at the régionale level of the pyramid.
To highlight the essential role played by this appellation segment within the spectrum of Bourgogne wines. In today’s context, emphasizing the range of Régionales appellations is crucial to meet the expectations of market players who aim to continue offering Bourgogne wines to their clientele at "reasonable" prices.
Event participation includes wine tasting kit with 8 x 40ml bottles of Bourgogne wines. International shipping is included. Wine kits will be shipped starting January 22, 2024.
