Andrea Eby joins Wine Scholar Guild as Italian Wine Programs Director

Andrea E. Eby comes to the Wine Scholar Guild from a background in wine and education. Andrea is excited to join the WSG team to oversee all aspects of WSG's Italian Wine programs.

Andrea earned the Diploma in Wine and Spirits (with Distinction) from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET)® in 2017 and was awarded the Prowein Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements.

She is an instructor with Wine Scholars Guild, a Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Ambassador and Certified Sommelier. Andrea is also an instructor for WSET® and works as an assessor in their Educator Training Programme. Andrea has worked as a wine buyer and served as a member of the expert judging panels at the International Wine & Spirits Competition, International Wine Challenge and Vinitaly 5 Star Wines.

Andrea E. Eby graduated from the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Education, with a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Special Education. After working in the public school system, Andrea found herself drawn to the world of wine.

She has worked for more than a decade in the wine world; as a wine buyer, in retail sales, and as a drinks educator at one of Canada’s top wine stores. She has recently started her own freelance consulting company, Vinsanity Consulting. Her passion for the wine’s of Italy has led her to work a winery stage in Toscana and to pursue higher education through the Institute of Masters of Wine.
