I thoroughly enjoyed the book with not only the specific information about all the appellation but found the historical insights extremely fascinating and helpful to understand Italian wine beyond the grapes but more with the cultural side.
Fantastic program that I would suggest to anyone wanted to learn about the wines of Southern Italy in a much deeper way.

The distance learning program was well laid out- through the structured online learning units in conjunction with the IWS manual, I now feel much more confident in my ability to speak about the wines of Italy.

If you sell Italian wines, drink Italian wines and/or love travelling to Italy, I would highly recommend the Italian Wine Scholar course. It covers regional varietals, winemaking and blending practices, climates, soils, history and producers. The online slides are a perfect companion to the text book for self study. My instructor Mark Shipway was a wealth of knowledge and sourced some amazing Italian wines for us to taste that are difficult to find in our market. As the Event Coordinator at Tap Restaurant, I know this course will help me guide my guests to select wines for their events and wine paired menus. I look forward to taking the French Wine Scholar in the near future!

The Italian Wine Scholar program is an outstanding educational experience that provided both depth and breadth of instruction on all of Italy's wine regions. I highly recommend this course to wine industry professionals and to enthusiasts who want to understand and appreciate well-known Italian wines as well as hidden treasures.

All good. The online flashcards and self evaluation quizzes were particularly helpful.
A section up front covering all of the grapes synonyms and also grape parentage would be helpful.
Reprinting the foundation chapter up front would also be useful in the Unit 2 book.

An excellent, and very detailed, insight into the wines of Italy, and ideal for anyone with a good basic understanding of wine who wants to know more about the wines of this fascinating country. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this course to any serious student of wine, or to sign up for one of the other courses myself.
