Congratulations to Bertrand de Cabarrus, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
About Bertrand:
My first encounter with the world of wine started when I was 2 years old by spending holidays with my grandparents in Villie Morgon where they owned a vineyard ..
My first real appreciation of wines started in Singapore several years ago as I embarked into a wine education journey taking various wine exams.. and with the FWS being the latest one.. I also discovered the joy of sharing my knowledge with others and have created a Wine club and organize on a regular basis wine tastings for my office as well as for a French association in Singapore.
I have passed the WSET 1-2-3, the CSW and now the FWS. I studied the IWS North but never took the exam. I enjoyed the depth of knowledge that the FWS brings.. I find it very complementary with other multi region diplomas such as WSET or CSW as those will bring the solid foundations to understand vini/viticulture and the country specific diplomas like FWS build upon those foundations.
The FWS has given me an extensive and deep knowledge of French wines, grapes, regions and I find that anyone willing to go deep into the wine industry should have a strong grasp of historical producing countries like France or Italy.
