Congratulations to Mário Márcio Lescano Júnior, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
About Mário:
I always loved wine and was a casual drinker for many years. I never worked in the wine business (I am a Major of the Brazilian Army), but I had a dream, to attend a Professional Sommelier course. In 2016, I started to fulfill it, so I began my wine journey. After 18 months, I finished the course provided by Brazilian Association of Sommeliers.
In 2018, I got the WSET 3 and, like many others, I reached the conclusion: the more you study, the more you don't know. Knowledge is infectious. So, I decided to start the WSET Diploma, which I will, hopefully, in Aug 2019. In the meantime, motivated by my Enocultura teachers, I attended French Wine Scholar, and it was fantastic! The level of details, the material's quality, make me fall in love with Wine Scholar Guild.
Once I finished FWS, I enrolled IWS within a week! I am taking my IWS Unit 2 exam in 4 days.
I am already enrolled in Bourgogne Master-Level and, hopefully, I will make every single one of them.
French Wine Scholar was a sensational experience and it opened my eyes. I am 100% sure I will use all my WSG books in the WSET Diploma and it will help me a lot.
French Wine Scholar certainly will be a life changer for me. To be able to discuss about every wine growing region in France, to be recognized because now I have the certification and, more important, the knowledge that now I possess, I can't put into words. I just want to thank my teachers, my friends and God to make this possible.
