Congratulations to Stephen Chan, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors with AWSEC, Hong Kong.
About Stephen:
Unlocking my curiosity about wines is perhaps one of the most fantastic and rewarding things in my life.
I drink wine – Keep sharpening my tasting skills and accumulating information into my brain library.
I buy wine – Nothing more exciting than discovering and sourcing something novel and great!
I sell wine – Being in the professional wine industry I have helped hundreds of private clients in building their wine portfolio and trade clients in sourcing what they want.
I teach wine – I teach WSET courses routinely and now also FWS at AWSEC. Isn’t it cool that you could share your knowledge and experience to help others to unlock their curiosity about wines?
I have attained Diploma WSET in Wines and Spirits in 2016 Pass with Merit. The FWS program complemented perfectly with the Diploma WSET course in ways of being more holistic and complete, covering the diverse appellations of an entire wine, from history, culture to microclimate, terroir, wine styles and food matching!
I am interested to enroll in IWS and the SWS. The FWS program, with well-articulated content and perfect structure, definitely provided me a perfect foundation on how to deep dive into each wine country/region.
Being specialized in procuring and selling French wines, with the FWS program now has strengthened me with skills of presenting to my clients/students with even the lesser-known appellations in a story-telling way and also deeper understanding of the corresponding grapes, the soils and the styles.
