Congratulations to Will Witters, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors with Napa Valley Wine Academy!
About Will:
I am a wine professional, having entered the adult beverage industry first through working in fine dining. I gained more experience in retailing wine before moving to distribution. At my company I am known as the salesman who knows much more about wine than about sales, and it has become a strength, lending authority to my recommendations.
Currently I am in the process of trying to open a wine school in the city where I live (Bloomington, Indiana). My hope is that I can cultivate an understanding and appreciation for wine among a larger segment of the population, while educating the retailers and restaurant workers who serve them.


In February 2017 I passed the exam to be a Certified Specialist of Wine. While I have always greatly enjoyed French wine, I did not score as well on that section of the test as I had hoped. It seemed to me that the best way to correct that was with the FWS program.
I am now studying for the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. I expect to have no problems with the questions on France!


The FWS program was the most enjoyable class on wine I have ever taken! I am better able to help customers select wines, and have a deeper appreciation for French wines myself such that many of them are now among my very favorites. The class also gives me valuable credentials as I pursue my goal of a career as a wine educator. I hope to take the Italian and Spanish Wine Scholar courses soon!
