Congratulations to Saroda Kyung, IWS, for achieving highest honors in the Italian Wine Scholar exam with WSA Wine Academy, Seoul.
About Saroda:
Hello, I’m Saroda, but please call me “Salad”!
My job is a brand manager, and I love wine as much as my passion for work.
I study wine after work, and share wine with friends, and post how wonderful my wine experiences were. It’s my routine!
I’ve studied for WSET, and after getting certified in level 3 I chose the IWS program to study wine deeper. IWS gave me plenty of information about appellations and grape varieties of Italian wine that I hadn’t learned about elsewhere.
Above all, IWS provides you the most ‘up-to-date’ and ‘accurate’ information about Italian wines. It taught me the newest knowledge about regulations concerning blending, classification, and wine regions. It was especially helpful to be sent revised data through WSG websites. (DOCG & DOC change every year, you know!) I might have to take the IWS programs again in a few years for the latest info. Haha!
For the time being, I plan to expand my studies to other wine region by WSG
Though studying IWS wasn’t easy, it was a chance to perceive how deep and wide the world of wine is. Meanwhile, compared to the actual variety of Italian wines, the types available in my country were very limited. That’s why I decided to take a gap year and planned to be in Italy for several months. The IWS program really lit the fire of my passion for wine.
