Congratulations to James Faulds, SWS, for passing the Spanish Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
About James:
I am a wine enthusiast hoping to combine my love of cooking and wine. Seeking education in wine seemed a logical step to me as wine and food paired well can elevate each other. Past the classic pairings I find it satisfying to find a match that friends and family think "Wow! I never would have thought of that but it works!"
I also hold the WSET 3 and FWS qualifications. Studying the SWS greatly increased my knowledge of Spanish wine which was already something I enjoyed beyond what was offered in the WSET 3 course. The WSET 3 puts you in great shape to study the WSG courses as you will already have foundational knowledge to build off.
I am currently enrolled in the IWS program to complete the 3 WSG Scholar programs and also enrolled in the CSWS. The knowledge gained in the SWS has set me up well to do the CSWS course by providing knowledge of the Sherry areas so I don't feel like I am jumping in blind.
The SWS program has already helped my wine passion by giving me the idea to take the CSWS. The instruction is great and I gained a lot of knowledge I didn't have previously. The qualification and knowledge gained may even turn passion into a profession!
I found both the SWS course and instruction to be valuable. I would highly recomend this course for anyone interested in Spanish wines.
