Congratulations to Pedro Barroso Inacio, SWS, for passing the Spanish Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!
About Pedro:
I started getting interested in wine at an early age – my first summer job was working at a spirits and wine store back in my native Algarve (which produces wonderful wines). From there, I started to get more and more interested, regarding all aspects: winemaking, regions, wine grapes. I subscribed to wine magazines and I’ve always enjoyed discovering more about wine. A never ending discovery! More recently, I’ve decided to go invest more seriously in certified wine education, and as I’ve always been a fan of Spanish wines (especially Sherry), I went ahead with my SWS course.
Prior to enrolling in WSG and doing the SWS, I had already been obtained WSET Level 2. After the SWS, I enrolled in the Certified Sherry Wine Specialist (CSWS), which I’ve also enjoyed a lot. I’m currently enrolled in the French Wine Scholar program and hope to soon sit my exam. But I’m sure I won’t stop here. Some Master-level certifications at WSG are very appealing, or even the Italian Wine Scholar program.
I have found the SWS program so interesting. It really helped to organize my wine knowledge, gave me much more structure. And it provided a very detailed and varied overview of a particular country. The basis I got from SWS will help me to study for other certifications. I’d really enjoy becoming a wine educator, but I guess I still have a long way to go. Thank you SWS for everything!
