Northern Rhône - Condrieu
Rather like André himself, the Condrieus from this estate are relatively discrete and measured. They aren’t flamboyantly ripe or lavished with new oak; they are compact, balanced, fresh – and all the more drinkable for it. His Condrieu Chéry is one of the very best wines in the appellation, and is one that – in the right vintage – can age for 20 years or more. His red Saint-Josephs are in a similar style – structural and textural rather than ripe and fleshy.
