Dard et Ribo

René-Jean Dard’s father died when he was 15 years old, so at a young age he had a lot to take on. He became friends with fellow local François Ribo, and they started making wine together in 1983. They soon gave up using synthetic chemicals, and they still working organically today, and use low or no added sulfites in their 20-odd cuvées, spanning Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Hermitage. They are pioneers of natural wine in the Northern Rhône, and – when on song – they make wines that brim with energy and freshness.
