Château des Tours

One of the three properties owned by Emmanuel Reynaud of Château Rayas, Château des Tours is at the western limit of Vacqueyras. It’s immediately obvious from the nose alone that these wines are made by this winemaking genius, displaying the classic aromatic markers of strawberry, orange and rose. He makes a range of different wines here, the main ones are: Château des Tours Vacqueyras, and Château des Tours Côtes-du-Rhône in red and white; Domaine des Tours IGP Vaucluse in red and two whites; a Vin de France rosé called Parisy. All are fascinating, idiosyncratic wines that are well worth tracking down – but beware the inflated prices charged by certain grasping merchants on the secondary market.
