All - DO Rías Baixas
Adegas Castrobrey is located in the oft-overlooked subzone of Ribeira do Ulla, which was added to DO Rías Baixas in 2000. The winery was founded in 1982 as a small family operation focused on farming native grapes like albariño, treixadura, godello and caiño tinto, but it has grown into a regional reference point for quality. Today the second generation is led by Ignacio Castro and his siblings. The estate’s 8.9 hectares of vineyards are planted primarily to Albariño, along with Treixadura, Godello, and Caíño Tinto. They’ve farmed without the use of herbicides since 2000, practicing sustainable farming, and all work in the vineyard is done by hand.
