Winning a scholarship for the French Wine Scholar programme really motivated me to give it my absolute best. Im very happy to have completed it - and passed with honours.

I thought the whole programme was excellent. Incredibly detailed thoughtfully structured and genuinely enriching. One thing that stood out was how much our lead instructor emphasised understanding over memorisation. That really resonated with me. When it came to the exam the questions looked simple at first glance but they were actually quite tricky. Without a solid grasp of the material it would have been easy to choose the wrong answer. That level of depth made the learning feel meaningful.

The additional online modules were a great complement. Interactive practical and well-designed. I found the flashcards quizzes and pronunciation tools especially helpful.

Id highly recommend this to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge and specialise in the French wine region. Having already completed the Champagne Master-Level Im now seriously considering the Burgundy Master-Level.

Very detailed and great programme about France. Good insights into some of the history of France as well. I think it was really great as well that a lot of the challenges regarding global warming were incorporated into the topic.

A serious deep-dive into French wine! Get your wetsuit on and check your equipment. Its going to be a looong but very rewarding visit. WSG has been running this program for years. Their combined knowledge experience shines searchlights into all the previously dark aspects features one needs to know. A serious undertaking with all the ooo la la-s only French wine culture delivers.

I really enjoyed the FWS programme it is well-structured and logically presented. I have learnt a lot from this thorough and comprehensive course on French wines and wine regions. It was like a journey through history and time with stories traditions almost palatable descriptions of flavours and scents- everything that makes French wine what it is now. I am incredibly inspired to continue and explore other region with Wine Scholar Guild.

I have a WSET Level 3 Certification (Distinction) and I wanted a wine program that took a deeper dive into France. This is a great program if you are interested in a more comprehensive knowledge of the wines of France and it has definitely spurred my curiosity to take a deeper dive into certain regions. The vast number of different sparkling wines roses sweet and semi-sweet wines and VDNs was especially an eye-opener!

I accidentally stumbled upon WSG. Very happy I did. The study material is very well presented and logical and I find the support in the community extremely effective and helpful. Already signed up for the Italian Wine Scholar. Great programs. Great team.

Sharon is a wonderful lecturer! Her teaching style is very engaging and easy to absorb. One suggestion is to have pre-recorded videos from Sharon when she cannot join us live.

I found the FWS program to be an incredible journey not just in providing me with a better understanding of French wine but also in giving me a clear understanding of how the historical political environmental and geographical landscape has impacted and affects winemaking and wine styles. Between the robust text book the online 25-45 minute lectures the online tutorial modules and the reference maps and at a glance one pagers WSG gives us all the tools to learn an entire countrys wine culture from top to bottom as long as youre willing to put in the time. I felt like if I mastered my book notes and re took the quizzes and flash cards constantly there was just no way I could fail in the end!

I found the combination of reading information from modules and instructor lead zoom an effective way to achieve my goal of successfully completing the program. I learned so much and found it very engaging. I especially loved the way the book was written. The short quizzes give you the building blocks to success!

I enjoyed the comprehensive coverage of the various appellations within the wine regions of France. Often regions like Corsica Jura Savoie and Roussillon tend to get overlooked by consumers simply because one does not get adequately exposed to information on history wine production grapes and wine styles of these regions. The FWS program certainly helped by giving a good framework.

This is an excellent course if you truly want to understand French wine and its importance to Frances culture. The history geology and geography made it more satisfying and complete.

For the FWS program I found the information on Jura Savoie SW Roussillon Languedoc Corsica quite informative and eye-opening. Learning about these regions and their wines has certainly piqued my interest in wanting to taste and appreciate them.

What a great program focusing on France. I recently finished WSET Diploma but I wanted a more in depth French learning and thats exactly what I got. Very satisfied.

The FWS online program is a great adventure. ! I was very apprehensive about France going in. Even though I had previously enjoyed the IWS and SWS programs France just seemed so...well...France. The program guided me through the material expertly. It wasnt easy but it was fun. And the core curriculum provided me with the confidence I needed to tackle a huge wine country with a historic and diverse wine industry. My advice - listen to the webinars. Over and over. I found that really helpful for encoding a foundation for the material into my memory.

I have the WSET level 3 in wine and once I settled in France it was not enough I realized that I had to deepen my studies focused on the regions of France their appellations wine styles terroir etc. At the end of my studies with French Wine Scholar I can now feel confident that I can practice my career in this beautiful country.
