About Gauthier:
I am a wine professional for 4 years now after having been a wine enthusiast. I quit my job of laboratory worker with the wish to build my enterprise in the wine retail sector. I had different experiences in different wine retail shops and I am currently creating my enterprise, Wine Wander, which will be launched soon! It will be a place where a boutique of wine&spirits, a tasting bar and an education center will be located for the best satisfaction of our customers. I co-created Wine Wander with my wife and our goal is to make people discover wine&spirits from the world, to make them travel with and through us as our philosophy is to go and meet the producers wherever they are before selling their wines or spirits.
In February 2021 I completed and validated the WSET Level 4, the Diploma, after an intensive year of study. This certification is bringing me a deep overview of the different aspects from a wine perspective all over the world, from the vineyard to the customers. Passing the FWS brought me more details about the History of each French wine region that is dealt deeper as well as some specificity of the different AOCs.
I am considering to pass the IWS and SWS as I find the format of the courses really clear and entertaining but I will focus on my enterprise for now.
The FWS brought me interesting knowledge about French Wine History that will help me for sure to give more details for my customers as well as a good understanding of the different AOCs, IGPs and wines to give them the best advice.
